Review of the Building Levy 

Property Council is currently looking into the building levy and what it funds. The building levy is paid by building owners or developers on successful building consent applications for projects that are worth more than the prescribed threshold. Given that our members contribute to this, we believe that MBIE should be making better use of the funds to directly benefit the industry.

Draft SmartGrowth Strategy 2023-2073

Consultation has recently opened on the Bay of Plenty’s Draft SmartGrowth Strategy 2023 –2073.

This is the urban growth management strategy for the western Bay of Plenty. It sets out the regional strategy for managing urban growth factors such as housing, land supply, infrastructure, transport, community development, tāngata whenua, and the natural environment.
