Congratulations!

On Thursday 26 October 2023, Property Council New Zealand brought together a sold-out crowd of over 330 guests for an unforgettable evening of exceptional networking and celebration. Together, we raised the roof (and the bar) to recognise the outstanding individuals shaping the Central property community.

Congratulations to the Rotorua Lakefront Redevelopment Team consisting of Rotorua Lakes Council, Veros, AECOM, Tonkin + Taylor, SEG and Ngāti Whakaue, who left an indelible mark by securing both the prestigious Chow:Hill Architects Urban Design Award and the coveted Colliers Project Leaders Supreme Excellence Award.

Awards Categories

This award is to acknowledge, encourage and most importantly, promote the positive contributions made to the industry by our young people.

This award recognises an individual aged 35 and under who:

  • Consistently demonstrates a passion and commitment to the local industry
  • Contributes substantially to their organisation, the local industry and/or their community
  • Continues to demonstrate competencies and achievements that make them stand out amongst their peers.

Nominees can be from any sector within the property industry, from quantity surveying, engineering, development, infrastructure, property management or architecture and design to property lawyers, accountants and real estate agents.

This award is directed to an individual who displays excellence in their profession and contributes to the wider property industry.

This award recognises a property professional who:

  • Consistently demonstrates a passion and commitment to the industry
  • Supports and facilitates opportunities for their industry peers through leadership, fostering relationships, innovation, supporting growth and making an overall positive contribution to the industry
  • Is an ambassador for their organisation and the property industry.

Nominees can be from any discipline within the property industry, from developers, managers and consultants to local government authorities, property owners and beyond.

Good urban design is the fabric of a prosperous region. This award recognises an individual or project team who have utilised urban design best practice to achieve excellence in a new development or refurbishment.

This award recognises an individual or team who:

  • Pursuing urban design outcomes, has helped shape the city or region
  • Has demonstrated urban design best practice
  • Has created space for communities to thrive using unique and innovative ideas
  • Has contributed to the sustainable growth of the region through the excellence of urban design outcomes.

This award recognises an individual, working in either the public or private sector, who has demonstrated outstanding leadership to drive progress within the local region.

This award recognises an individual who:

  • Consistently contributes to supporting their team, their peers, the community and the industry as a whole
  • Delivers high-impact results and significantly contributes to their organisation, project or the property industry
  • Is inspirational, leads by example and consistently strives for success as a team, driving progress and innovation. Nominees can be from any discipline or associated discipline within the property industry.

The award winner is inspirational, leads by example and consistently strives for success as a team. Their leadership qualities could have been evident in a particular project, leading and managing a team or organisation, or providing strategic direction.

The Women in Property Award recognises a female within the local property industry who has consistently demonstrated a passion for property, contributing to both their organisation and the property industry as a whole.

This award recognises an individual who:

  • Is a role model to her colleagues and peers
  • Demonstrates exceptional skills, dedication and professional growth in the industry
  • Displays leadership characteristics and is influential in her profession and in the industry.

This award recognises an industry team who has demonstrated excellence through:

  • Innovation
  • Design
  • Sustainability
  • Profitability

This team, through their outstanding work and collaboration, have gone above and beyond and overcome challenges effectively and efficiently. The team has benefited not only their own organisation and/or project but the property industry at large.

Teams who enter this category can include multi-organisation project teams, internal work teams, or any other collaborative team which is required to work together to achieve the desired outcome for a project in the region.

The property industry must demonstrate leadership in taking action to manage and support sustainability.

This award recognises an individual or team who has demonstrated excellence in sustainability through:

  • Leadership
  • Implementation
  • Promotion

Through collaboration, this team or individual have championed sustainability initiatives, creating positive change within the industry or their organisation. These initiatives will have benefitted not only their own organisation but also inspired action within the wider property industry and/or community or achieved a positive environmental outcome.

This award is not open for nomination.

This award is awarded to an individual who has been in the property industry for 20+ years and has demonstrated outstanding commitment to the industry.

Their contribution to their organisation and/or the property industry and as a result, the local economy, has enhanced the creditability and reputation of the industry to the benefit of their peers.

The award winner will have demonstrated a successful contribution of social or economic importance related to property, demonstrating exceptional skills, dedication, commitment and leadership that is inspiring to those within the industry and beyond.

The recipient will be selected by the Regional Committee and will be presented the award at the awards evening.

This award is not open for nomination.

This award is presented to a deserving nominee mentioned in the other categories, who deserves to be recognised for their outstanding contribution to the local property industry.

This award will be selected by the judging panel and will be presented to either a team or an individual at the awards evening.

This award is presented to a winner in a previous category, who is deemed by the judging panel to be the standout recipient above all other nominees for the 2023 Central Property People Awards.

FAQs

To enter the awards, simply follow the instructions on the nomination page and submit your nomination by 1 September 2023.

Nominations and entries can be made by Property Council New Zealand members and non-members alike.

Submission quantity, quality and judges’ decisions are out of Property Council New Zealand’s event staff’s control. Property Council New Zealand will proceed with the standard process for the Award provided there is a minimum of three submission entries per category.

Property Council New Zealand reserves the right to decline to make an Award or present a certificate in any particular category.

Nomination to the Property People Awards is completely free for both members and non-members.

Property Council New Zealand keeps all data strictly confidential, with only the judging panel having access to this data purely for the judging process.

The entrant agrees that comment or imagery provided by them as part of their nomination may be used in related communications at the discretion of Property Council New Zealand and the associated media.

Property Council New Zealand and its associated media accept no responsibility for any incorrect details, spelling or other incorrect information stated in the entry form and submission. Please double-check the details you provide to us.

As noted under each category (above), the maximum length of any nomination is 2000 words excluding references (where applicable).
