Resource management reform options released

In July, the Government announced the comprehensive review of the resource management system, including the RMA - the first such review in 30 years.

The panel undertaking a comprehensive review of the Resource Management System has identified 14 issues and options for reform.

The expert Resource Management Review Panel, chaired by retired Appeal Court Judge Tony Randerson, is tasked with producing reform proposals by mid-2020, including drafting of key legislative provisions.

The Review Panel's issues and options paper identifies the main issues to be addressed in the reform process and offers possible ways in which they might be addressed. The document also proposes questions for submitters to consider and respond to. Feedback on the paper is due on Monday 3 February 2020

Property Council will be holding a workshop in on Wednesday 4 December to take members through the issues and options paper and seek feedback on the Review Panel's proposed questions.

If you wish to be part of our Working Group, please contact Katherine Wilson.
