Woods Bagot announces the appointment of new CEO, Sarah Kay

Sarah will lead the next step in Woods Bagot’s journey towards total place design, with an emphasis on how place design can positively impact society.

Sarah takes the CEO reins from Nik Karalis, who was appointed CEO of Woods Bagot in 2015. Nik’s nine-year tenure saw him lead with a clear, globally strategic vison – completing scores of impactful projects across multiple sectors.

Rubix promotes two Auckland team members to Project Managers

Bea C. started with the firm in November 2022, with a background in data and analytics, she effortlessly combined her attention to detail, her well-honed people skills and her enjoyment of problem-solving to quickly become a valuable member of the team. Thomas Songhurst joined Rubix in March 2022, with a confident and professional approach, Tom holds himself to deliver to a high standard, an avid learner he continually strives to understand the company’s projects, clients and processes. Tom naturally enjoys a challenge and works well under pressure; he is an integral member of the Rubix team and adapts easily to an ever-changing project environment.

Anthony Harper appoints new managing partner

Law firm Anthony Harper has announced the appointment of highly regarded property and construction partner, Ed Dunphy, as the firm’s managing partner effective 1 July. 

A partner at Anthony Harper since 2013, Ed brings a wealth of experience to the role, including six years on the firm’s board. 

“I am honoured and delighted to take on the role of managing partner at Anthony Harper, a firm that I have been proud to be part of for over 11 years. 

“I look forward to working with our outstanding team of partners, lawyers and staff, to continue partnering with our valued clients and delivering excellent service and results. 

“I also want to thank our outgoing managing partner, Malcolm Hurley, for his exemplary leadership and dedication during his tenure. He leaves a fantastic legacy, most notably the transition of Anthony Harper from a Christchurch firm to a national firm and a long, sustained period of growth.”

Malcolm Hurley will be continuing his corporate and commercial practice as a partner at the firm.

The Property Group appoint new GM of Auckland and North Island

The Property Group are pleased to share the appointment of Don MacDonald as our new General Manager of Auckland and Northland.  
 
Don has built up a range of leadership experience in his 20+ years in the corporate, property and retail sectors. Most recently Don was the Head of Property and Development at Fletcher Distribution responsible for overseeing large-scale operations, including property strategy development, project feasibility, and site acquisition work.  
 
Don is extremely excited to be given the opportunity to lead TPG’s Auckland and Northland region as we continue our growth and development as New Zealand’s largest independent property advisory firm.  
 
Don will step into the role from 12 August 2024.

The biennial New Zealand Law Society’s CLE Property Law Conference in Auckland concluded with the Hall of Fame awards ceremony. Justin March was celebrated for his remarkable achievements alongside Niamh McMahon, Duncan Terris, Jeannie Warnock, and Robbie Muir, all of whom have made significant contributions to the legal profession. 

Valuer Anna Lomas joins Colliers in Tauranga

Experienced valuations specialist Anna Lomas has returned to Colliers as a Director of Valuation & Advisory Services and will be based in Tauranga. 

Having first worked for Colliers in Wellington in 2006, Lomas has also enjoyed stints with the business in Vietnam and Sydney. She spent the past nine years with insurance firm Aon, starting in Sydney before returning to the Bay of Plenty in 2017. 

Lomas completed a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in Valuation & Property Management and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Business Psychology at Massey University before entering the workforce in 2004. 

Lomas, who lives with her family in Papamoa, says she is thrilled to be back in familiar surroundings. 

“As the Bay of Plenty and Waikato areas continue to grow at a rapid pace there is considerable potential for Colliers to establish a valuations presence in these key markets that make up New Zealand’s economic ‘Golden Triangle’ alongside Auckland,” Lomas says. 

“It’s great to be back at Colliers alongside some people I have worked with previously.” 

Fiona Cameron appointed as General Manager, Sales for Oceania Healthcare
