Earlier this year, Property Council launched a new opportunity exclusive to our Industry Leader members – an internship position on our National Board. Our directors are passionate about growing the talent pipeline and want to ensure that as a leader of our sector, we create opportunities to increase the depth of talent in the property and governance communities.
Far from being a token role that asks you to sit in the corner and take notes, the National Board Internship is truly diverse. The intern will be expected to contribute to discussions, provide their point of view and assist with the development of advocacy and business strategy, operational matters, and the general business of Property Council New Zealand. In return, National Board Directors are happy to offer informal mentorship, a welcoming environment, and the opportunity for you to connect with and learn from some of the most experienced property professionals in the country. The appointment is for a two-year period, commencing from 1 January 2024.
Applications were open throughout October. The standard of applicants exceeded all our expectations, and our directors were delighted to have such talent interested in the property industry and the activities Property Council are involved in.
We are excited to announce that Natasha Sarkar, a Director of CBRE has been appointed to the position.
Natasha is Director of Structured Transactions & Advisory Services, where her focus is on establishing a build to rent (BTR) valuation and strategic advisory capability in New Zealand. Her key areas of expertise include residential development for both private sale and delivery to the BTR / Multifamily and Private Rented Sector, residential led mixed-use development and existing residential investments. Natasha has direct experience in value-add on BTR developments from design inception through to a stabilised investment position.
Natasha has over 10 years’ experience in real estate valuation and advisory encompassing the commercial and residential property sectors both across New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Natasha’s major representative assignments range from national house builders to large scale mixed-use developments (50-5,000-unit schemes). Natasha also provides strategic advisory generally relating to financial feasibility and options analyses, and transaction advice/delivery typically with respect to large-scale, master-planned development projects. She acts for both public and private sector clients in this regard.
