Thermosash 158 Central Park Drive takes top award in Industrial Property category

Auckland, 13 June 2025: Thermosash Commercial’s Henderson property, 158 Central Park Drive are the winners of this year’s CBRE Industrial Property Award at the 2025 Property Council New Zealand Rider Levett Bucknall Property Industry Awards held tonight at Spark Arena.

The site, formerly used as a retail showroom, was constructed by Dominion Constructors, consolidating previously geographically siloed Thermosash workstreams into on collaborative space for the first time in 10 years. Head office and HR, manufacturing, assembly and delivery can now operate under one roof, enabling Thermosash to streamline processes and increase productivity.

Located in Henderson, 158 Central Park Drive is positioned in one Auckland’s industrial hubs. Henderson has been under significant development since the introduction of the Henderson Implementation Plan. Introduced in 2014, the project set out to develop the economic and living opportunities and safety in Henderson.

Andrew Evans, chief judge, Property Industry Awards says that a development of this nature in Henderson is a significant asset.

“This building plays a huge part in the longevity of employment in the area, the wider community, and continued development in Henderson. Recently celebrating five decades in business, Thermosash has a strong focus on sustainable practices. Initially, 158 Central Park Drive was set to have an Industrial Green Star 5 rating, but the decision was made to increase investment in Green Star rated features to reach a certified Green Star 6 rated building rating, which has recently been awarded to the site.

As well as implementing a carbon reduction methodology, 158 Central Park Drive has a 969m2 solar panel grid installation achieving 220kW for essential services battery backup / onsite diesel generator.

To complement the environmental sustainability efforts, the facility also includes space for training, social, and community events, marking a new chapter for sustainable industrial development in West Auckland. “Sustainability in industrial construction is more than just making sure they are Green Star approved. Leading industrial developments think about the bigger picture: how the community will benefit from engaging with the building, how the building can give back, and what the space can do for the next generation.”

Now in their 35th year, the Property Industry Awards are the most prestigious property awards programme in Aotearoa New Zealand celebrating excellence in design and innovation in the built environment.
