Waikato | Property Signature Series | City Trends and Innovations
The Property Industry is forever evolving with new technologies and different concepts for the way we work, live and play - but what does that mean for the future of our city and our lifestyle?
Meet our panel of influential property professionals, as they discuss current and global trends, and what they mean for Waikato: what change can we expect and what should we worry about for the future?
Business Trends – The 4 Day work week
BCD Group recently implemented a new age flexibility model of a 4 day work week across their business. Hear first-hand about how they went about executing this change, tracking the progress and what have been the challenges encountered. Most importantly what have been the positives and what does the future look like?
Transport Trends –Car Sharing
Technology, particularly mobile technology is driving change and as the new generations become workers and consumers, different social values and choices are influencing where and how people work, live and play. Reducing more cars on the city’s road is the way of the future and works towards the goal of being more sustainable. Jamie of Loop Car share will discuss with the group how the idea of Loop Car Sharing came about and how this fits into the property sector now and in the future. What other trends might we see coming and what should we worry about?
Co-working Spaces & Property Development Trends
The phenomenon of co-working spaces have thrived significantly in different regions in NZ and we are now experiencing more and more spaces open up in Hamilton City embracing this concept. So why has it become so popular and can we expect to see more in the future? Panama is a recent example of the demand for spaces like this in the City – Stark Property will discuss how this type of development came about to be a co-working space and will we see more in the future.
Mixed-use developments & Apartments are also becoming more popular – will we continue to see more developments like this or is something new coming our way?
BIM – What is BIM?
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is an intelligent 3D model-based process that provides architects, engineers and construction professionals the insight and tools to more effectively plan, design, construct and manage buildings and infrastructure. Across the world, BIM is becoming a crucial and even mandated process to ensure that the planning, design and construction of buildings is highly efficient and collaborative. Phil Kempster of Chow:Hill Architects will discuss the growing trend of using BIM and the applying this process in the property industry moving forward.
