Wellington Update

I was recently asked to reflect on what I’ve gained from getting involved with the Property Council. On reflection, the greatest value has come from the opportunites to grow my network and expand my perspective – both economically and politically – building connections and relationships with people I wouldn’t usually collaborate with in my day job.

As a passionate Wellingtonian, it has been my great pleasure to sit at the table alongside other phenomenonally passionate locals. Long-time industry champions such as Mike Cole, Mark Dunajtschik and Denis Wood, all of whom have contributed countless years to enhancing the organisation and our city. I am fortunate to call these people not just colleagues, but mentors. These valued relationships are largely down to my involvement with Property Council.

Behind the scenes there is a huge amount of unseen work undertaken by Katherine, Denise, Leonie and the Property Council team. We would have a considerably more challenging regulatory environment if it weren’t for their advocacy. That in itself is of enormous value to both me and my organisation.

The purpose of this update is to give you a snapshot of what we’ve achieved both as an organisation and as a local committee, as well as casting our eye forward to the avalanche of legislation and change that is coming our way.

As always, we welcome your feedback, engagement and ideas as we work together to shape a city that Wellingtonians can be proud of.

Ngā mihi.
