Gerard Earl, National Director of Occupier Services at Colliers, took home both the coveted Greenwood Roche Supreme Excellence Award and the Rolle Property Outstanding Leader Award, in recognition of his leadership, dedication, and industry contributions.

Barnes Beagley Doherr Best Team Award
The judges found it incredibly difficult to decide on a winner in this category, with so many exceptional teams competing. However, Unispace stood out for their remarkable work on Meridian Energy’s new home in Wellington’s iconic Old Bank Arcade. Tasked with delivering a project that combined heritage preservation with the world’s most rigorous sustainability standards, Unispace completed this complex challenge within 12 months. Their dedication, collaboration, and innovative approach have resulted in the building currently awaiting certification as one of the first Living Building Challenge-certified fit-outs in New Zealand – an extraordinary achievement.

TSA Riley Excellence in Sustainability Award

Ortus International Long Service Award
This award recognises individuals who have dedicated over 20 years of service to the Wellington property sector, making a lasting and positive impact on the industry and the region. Paul Robinson exemplifies this commitment.
Paul’s journey began 50 years ago when he moved to Wellington from the South Island. Starting out as a dishwasher and night security guard, he worked his way through law school at Victoria University. His career has been diverse, including time spent working on prawn trawlers and lobster boats in Western Australia, where he earned his Mate Deep Sea Fishing Vessel qualification.
In the mid-1990s, Paul and his siblings founded The Woolstore Group, which soon acquired the Woolstore Design Centre, now a thriving design-focused business community. Over the following decades, Paul’s leadership saw the company expand its portfolio with significant commercial projects, including Porirua’s first Greenstar-rated building.

Greenwood Roche Supreme Excellence Award
Gerard has had an extraordinary career in the property industry, marked by his leadership, vision, and consistent commitment to excellence. Since arriving in New Zealand in 2009, he has rapidly become a key figure in the sector, known for his expertise in asset management, redevelopment, and long-term investment strategies. His work has been instrumental in driving major property projects throughout Wellington.
As National Director of Occupier Services at Colliers, Gerard leads a team of nearly 60, providing innovative real estate solutions to some of New Zealand’s most prominent public and private entities. He is also a respected leader within the Property Council New Zealand, having served for a decade on the Wellington Regional Committee, including three years as Regional Chair.
The judges noted, “Gerard was a standout nominee in this year’s awards programme. His dedication, enthusiasm, and passion for the sector has made him an incredible leader and a valued contributor to the Wellington property industry.” Gerard’s mentorship, advocacy for ESG, and dedication to the industry make him a truly deserving recipient of this prestigious award.
