Meet our panellists
Marisa is a familiar face to many in the property sector, having been part of the commercial interiors industry for over 17 years, spending the last eight years in the construction sector. She holds an Interior Design and Construction Management diploma as well as numerous titles such as WELL accredited professional, NAWIC member, NZGBC GreenStar practitioner, and founder of Commercial Real Estate Women Crew NZ. Her zest for promoting ESG and sustainability awareness is only trumped by her passion for championing women within the construction industry.
Marisa initially joined Savory as the Partnerships and Sustainability Director, before being appointed as GM of Business and Strategy, and in April 2024 she was made a Director. Working within internationally renowned organisations such as Facebook and PWC has helped Marisa gain valuable foresight into global markets and upcoming trends. This robust experience serves her well as she now oversees multiple departments at Savory including partnerships, sustainability, innovation, marketing and branding, culture, ESG, and strategy.
Of Te Āti Hau Nui a Pāpā Rangi (Whanganui) descent, Laurissa Cooney is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants, and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand. She has previously held senior manager, auditing and consulting roles with Deloitte in New Zealand and Deloitte Touche in London and was the Chief Financial Officer for Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi.
Laurissa currently serves as a Chair of Aotearoa Circle and is an Independent Non-Executive Director for Air New Zealand Ltd, Goodman Property Ltd, Accordant Group Ltd and is the Chair of the Audit & Risk for Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki. She also holds a role as Co-Chair for the Tourism Industry Transformation Plan for the Environment with MBIE. Laurissa is also a Committee Member of the Chapter Zero NZ Steering Group and was a 2017 recipient of the Institute of Directors Emerging Director Award.
