TSA Riley advisory team appoints two new senior consultants

The TSA Riley advisory team is growing, with two new senior consultants bringing fresh expertise to Wellington and Auckland.

In Wellington, Amelia Vinnell draws on experience across government, diplomacy, infrastructure, and environmental policy. Her insights will help clients tackle complex infrastructure challenges with confidence.

In Auckland, Aki Liyanage specialises in advisory, assurance, and carbon strategy. He’s already providing strategic advice and assisting with our sponsor’s assurance role on Auckland’s City Rail Link.

With their arrival, TSA Riley is strengthening the expertise clients rely on to deliver the right outcomes on complex projects. 

The Building Intelligence Group appointments

Congratulations to Chanté de Goede who has been promoted to Project Manager. Chanté has consistently demonstrated capability, commitment, and leadership in her time at TBIG. She developed her skills in the ‘engine room’ of the Ministry of Education New Zealand Boiler Replacement Programme, where she played a key role in managing large volumes of deliverables across a complex programme of works.

Welcome to Stephan Pretorius, who has joined the team based in Queenstown. With a strong national track record delivering major three waters projects, plus broad experience across complex infrastructure and civil works both in New Zealand and internationally, Stephan’s arrival strengthens our capability in the region.

Welcome to Elijah May, who joins the team as a Senior Project Manager based in Taupō. Elijah will be leading work across the Central North Island and Hawke’s Bay, helping drive the exciting growth we’re seeing in the region.

Welcome to Kris Rana, who joins the team in Tāmaki Makaurau. Kris is a capable Project Manager, bringing to TBIG his expertise in planning and scheduling and project controls across infrastructure, land development, and renewable energy.

Philippa, a seasoned Urban Designer with over a decade of experience across New Zealand, Australia and the UK. Philippa brings a powerful blend of strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and spatial planning expertise. Her work across both public and private sectors has shaped vibrant urban environments and strengthened design outcomes through smart systems and process innovation.

With a sharp eye for implementation and a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, Philippa excels at aligning multidisciplinary teams and maintaining design integrity from concept to delivery. Her recent transition into project management is a natural evolution, allowing her to apply her design acumen to the successful execution of projects that truly enrich urban life.

Shana Payne, Associate & QTN Studio Lead 
Shana is Chair of Te Kāhui Whaihanga NZIA Southern Branch and a certified NZGBC Homestar Assessor. With 17+ years of experience across multiple sectors, she delivers high-performance projects and fosters a positive, engaging workplace culture. 
 
Nathan Tahi, Associate 
Nathan brings 27+ years of multi-sector experience, recognised for his leadership, technical expertise, and collaborative approach. He focuses on optimising built environments through emotional design and reusable materials, balancing precision with creative vision. 
 
Roxanne Kirkpatrick, Associate 
Roxanne has cross-sector experience and a strong focus on sustainability, kaitiakitanga, biophilic design, and occupier wellbeing. Her background in site observation equips her to deliver coordinated and thoughtful design solutions. 
 
Mercedes Gulliford, Architectural Technician 
With 20+ years’ experience in healthcare, residential, and retirement care, Mercedes excels in fitout planning, coordination, and technical documentation. She is also committed to fostering collaboration across teams. 
 
Patrick Weber, Project BIM Manager 
Patrick specialises in model coordination, multi-disciplinary documentation, passive fire oversight, and structural investigations. His precision and drive for continuous improvement strengthen project delivery. 
 
Betty Chung, Senior Registered Architect 
Betty’s expertise spans projects of all scales across multiple sectors. She brings strong design insight and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes that make her a valued member of the team. 
 
Jack Mayo, Architectural Graduate 
Jack, a recent MArch (Prof) graduate from Victoria University, is passionate about pragmatic, sustainable design solutions. His curiosity and commitment to learning make him a strong addition to the commercial team.

Anna Mayhew joins the Auckland team as Business Development Manager, bringing her unique perspective from property and recruitment sectors.
