TBIG Appoints Honorary Dame Suzanne Snively as New Independent Chair to Lead Strategic Growth

The Building Intelligence Group, a leading independent construction project management company, has appointed Honorary Dame Suzanne Snively ONZM DNZM as its new Independent Chair.

In her role, Suzanne will oversee TBIG’s board activities, providing strategic guidance and ensuring robust corporate governance. This appointment is part of TBIG’s broader strategy to strengthen its leadership and enhance its capacity to deliver large-scale, complex projects with precision and efficiency. She has committed the remainder of her career to supporting New Zealand’s growth in a sustainable and viable way, making her a perfect fit for TBIG. 

Jasmax expands Australian business to meet demand

Renowned New Zealand-founded international architecture and design practice Jasmax has joined forces with Melbourne practice Canvas Projects to open a second Australian studio.

The Melbourne move marks the practice’s steady growth since opening its first Australian studio in Sydney in 2022. Jasmax will use its strategic foothold in Australia to meet demand in the education, health, transport and cultural sectors, strengthened by Canvas Projects’ local expertise and track record.

In a statement about the move, Jasmax CEO Matthew Glubb said, “Jasmax and Canvas Projects share a common ethos, a highly collaborative approach, and a focus on providing real value to the clients and communities we serve. Canvas Projects has an exceptional design portfolio, and we look forward to joining our experience and expertise with their local knowledge to benefit new and existing clients in Australia.”

Round up of appointments for Colliers

Darcy Tim has joined Colliers as a Director in the Debt Advisory team and brings more than 20 years of property finance experience to the role. 

He has financed some of the largest transactions in the New Zealand property market and has a strong understanding of development finance, investment, and debt syndication. 

Tim will work with Andrew Priest, rekindling a successful partnership having previously worked together in BNZ’s Structured Property Finance business. 

Together they have financed over $1 billion in development lending. Their expertise covers various funding forms, including land acquisition, restructuring, development, investment, and syndications, ensuring clients receive comprehensive support. 

The Colliers Debt Advisory team specialises in maximising the value of real estate investments by securing the most competitive and well-structured capital. 

Duncan Christie has joined the Colliers Real Estate Management Services team and will lead a team of six property and asset management professionals. With 23 years of experience in property management across New Zealand and the UK, he has a proven track record in leading teams and repositioning assets across various asset classes, including premium-grade properties, for a diverse client base. 

“I really admired what Colliers was delivering in the market and it is incredibly exciting to work with a range of high-profile assets across New Zealand,” Christie says. 

Tony Radley joined Colliers as a Finance and Systems Director and will focus on managing the finance operations for the Real Estate Management Services team that has team members in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, and expanding the team’s capabilities for major investor groups. 

Originally from Australia, Tony Radley moved to New Zealand 12 years ago having previously worked in various finance roles at Westfield in Sydney. 

In New Zealand he was recently Head of Finance with a major investment fund for Dexus (formerly AMP Capital) and has built numerous connections across the property sector. 

Experienced Northland real estate professional Megan McGregor has joined Colliers and will lead the organisation’s office in Whangārei. 

Having worked in the property sector for nearly a decade, McGregor, born-and-bred in Whangārei, brings an extensive amount of local knowledge to the table. 

McGregor has a proven track record in the area, including completing a selection of deals in the high-profile mixed-use development of Port Nikau. 

“I am excited about the opportunity to collaborate with some highly experienced team members from across the Colliers network to ensure we can provide our clients with the best service and sales and leasing opportunities in the Northland region,” McGregor says. 

Kim Gorman has joined Colliers as a Senior Property Manager and will be managing a mix of premium central Auckland commercial assets owned by significant investment funds and top-tier clients. 

Having originally studied a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Film and Image Production at the University of Leeds in England, Gorman moved into the property sector in Australia when living there on a working holiday. Rather than returning to England she moved to New Zealand in 2016 where she has developed extensive experience in property management. 

TBIG appoint New Plymouth project manager

Nau mai to Antoniah Snooks (Ngāti Whātua), who joins the TBIG team as a project manager based in New Plymouth. Antoniah joins with a strong background in both project management and architectural design, blending technical skills with creative vision.

Her experience and leadership are invaluable to support the work TBIG are doing in Taranaki and she’s already hit the ground running on several significant projects in the region.

“Based in Ngāmotu/New Plymouth, I am excited to be joining the dynamic super team here at TBIG.  It’s long been my calling to be of service and contribute to the growing iwi/hapū Māori space and I’m looking forward to fostering established relationships, growing new ones, and actively engaging with our local and wider hapori/community in our beautiful region, under the watchful eye of Koro Taranaki and beyond.  Both the professional and personal development this opportunity provides within a supportive and collaborative environment is thrilling.”
