Kāinga Maha appoints GM of Home Foundations impact investment arm
Kāinga Maha is thrilled to share that James Stewart is taking on the position of General Manager of Home Foundation’s impact investment arm, Home Capital Partners. James brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in housing and capital markets. Having previously lead Gemelli Consulting, over the past half-decade has helped more than 275 organisations unlock social and environmental impact through providing business case and capital structuring advice.
Last month, Kāinga Maha became a charitable company and wholly owned subsidiary of Home Foundation Charitable Trust. They are therefore excited to partner with Home Capital Partners to secure a pipeline of large-scale mixed tenure housing developments across the motu, combining their development expertise and Home Capital Partners’ impact-led capital to unlock more housing. James will be an invaluable addition and play an integral role to spearhead Home Capital Partners as it grows its capital through a range of public and private partnerships.
James will also be joining the Kāinga Maha Board as a Director, expanding their development economics and advisory work. Kāinga Maha is also delighted that Gemelli’s Craig Seddon will be taking on the position as Financial Analyst and Development Viability Specialist. Craig will be utilising his expertise in creating bespoke financial models and comprehensive understanding of the financial dynamics of property development and investment, strengthening Kāinga Maha’s development advisory capability and capacity.

Kiwi Property appoints independent director
Kiwi Property are delighted to announce that Kevin Kenrick has been appointed as an independent director of Kiwi Property, effective immediately.
Kevin brings a wealth of strategic transformation experience from the retail, telecommunications, travel, and media industry sectors, which will be invaluable as they continue their evolution into a leading creator of mixed-use communities. Kevin is currently a director of BNZ and previously held the role of CEO at TVNZ and House of Travel, and executive leadership roles at Telecom NZ and Lion.

Current board member Jane Freeman has announced her resignation from the Kiwi Property board, effective as of the upcoming annual shareholder meeting on the 27th of June. Kiwi Property wish to thank Jane for her guidance and dedication over the last decade.
Mark Williams joins Colliers as Commercial Director
Experienced executive Mark Williams has joined Colliers as the organisation’s Commercial Director. This is a strategic appointment and Williams will have responsibility for the finance function, acquisitions, growth initiatives, business productivity, and enablement across Colliers.
He has extensive experience in the beverage sector, working in New Zealand and the UK, before he moved into the hospitality industry in 2014. An eight-year stint at the Nourish Group included four years as CEO before he worked as a consultant before joining Colliers.
Williams says his first impressions of Colliers met what people had told him before he joined the organisation.
“It’s a highly collaborative workplace with an excellent structure and a hugely talented team of people within the business,” Williams says.

International design practice Warren and Mahoney strengthens its leadership promoting five of its senior team

Claire Sharpe, Principal, Wellington
Claire returned to Warren and Mahoney in 2022 after 12 years working for Foster + Partners in London and San Francisco. While there Claire’s work included the global headquarters for Apple in Cupertino, California, helping guide the project from masterplan to completion. Since returning, Claire has demonstrated outstanding leadership and a commitment and passion for Wellington’s built environment. A strong designer and communicator, Claire has quickly become a well-respected and trusted advisor to clients helping shape the future of her home city.
Alexandra (Alex) Hornby, Principal, East Coast Studios
Alex joins the Principal team in her new role as Commercial Director of WAM’s integrated East Coast Studio (Melbourne and Sydney). After seven years with the practice Alex has formed strong relationships and a deep understanding of successful commercial practice. Her insight as a trained and experienced Project Manager enables her to see work through a different lens, aiding the practice to achieve successful outcomes and serving clients.
Te Aritaua (Te Ari) Prendergast, Associate Principal, Auckland
Te Ari joined Warren and Mahoney in 2022 as Te Matakīrea Design Lead, based in Auckland. As a practitioner and leader in co-design methodology, Te Ari is highly regarded and respected within Warren and Mahoney and the wider design community. His calm, thoughtful and collaborative approach on a number of significant projects, including healthcare, infrastructure and masterplanning across our One Studio network, has enabled sensitive and informed design and delivery of projects for clients.
Kathryn (Kat) Collins, Associate Principal, Auckland
Kat is an experienced registered architect and exceptional project leader. In her work, Kat demonstrates her strengths in all aspects of a project including design and technical excellence and commercial performance. Fast becoming an insightful leader in the multi-residential sector, Kat is well respected and trusted by those she works with, both internally and with key clients.
In addition, Rory Keegan, Jeremy Joseph, Hannah Thompson, Matthew Body, Bridget White, James Kladouris, Paul Grant and David Smith have been appointed Senior Associates, and Anton Shaw has been promoted to Associate.
Managing Director, John Coop, notes that depth and substance in the design practice’s leadership is vital as the practice continues to diversify and evolve its team and expertise across Australia and New Zealand.
