Marko den Breems appointed as Isthmus CEO.

Isthmus’ Board are thrilled to announce that Marko den Breems has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer. Marko is a well-rounded executive, bringing strong and varied experience in stakeholder management, commercial and financial risk, and the delivery of architecture and urban design projects.

Marko is an experienced operator in Aotearoa’s architecture industry, having previously held the role of Chief Executive Officer at Jasmax—during his tenure there he led a maturing of the business with a focus on succession, retention, and growth. In his most recent position as Director of Architecture at Kāinga Ora, Marko has built a team which now works across architecture, sustainability and quality assurance disciplines.

Marko’s appointment completes a process of transition from Ralph Johns, who resigned as CEO in June 2023 after 10 years at the helm. The Board acknowledges and thanks Brad Coombs for leading the business in the interim.

Board Chair Christine Spring was “delighted with the calibre of the applicants for the CEO role—ultimately we selected Marko for his unique mix of design industry and CEO experience”. Christine believes that “Marko will be an excellent fit for Isthmus. He will bring new energy to advancing Isthmus’ core purpose – Regenerating Aotearoa by connecting land people and culture.”

We will be welcoming Marko to the studio on 19 August 2024 and are looking forward to working with him to chart Isthmus’ future path.

Megan Lockwood joins Colliers RPM team

Megan Lockwood has joined Colliers as the National Director of Residential Project Marketing and brings an impressive track record of working on major developments in New Zealand and Australia.

The Colliers Residential Project Marketing team specialises in identifying attractive development sites and advising on project design to unlock high-quality residential projects. With in-house expertise spanning project inception through to marketing campaigns and sell down, it is a true value-add agency service offering.

Lockwood will lead a team of experienced and talented experts that have transacted thousands of dwellings across Auckland, including Director Jeff Davidson, Associate Director Juliet Lichtenstein, and Project Sales Consultants Joanne Speir, Duncan Macdonald, Karishma Singh, Kalala Bowden, and Chao Lim. She says having the opportunity to add value and assist developers to create successful projects that will continue to reshape Auckland is an appealing prospect.

“I come to this role with a developer mindset, which I believe will add considerable value to developers during their key early design and planning phases where saleability and feasibility must be front of mind. I can’t wait to assist them in creating developments that will meet the needs of buyers and then lead the marketing and sell down period with our highly skilled, project-specialised Colliers sales team,” Lockwood says.

“Joining Colliers gives me a really strong platform where I can leverage the experienced New Zealand-based team as well as the international expertise of our overseas colleagues.”

While the economic backdrop has presented challenges for developers during the past two years, Lockwood says now is the time to be proactive.

Congratulations Megan!
