Southpark Group has announced the appointment of Michaela Cody as Leasing and Business Development lead.
Michaela brings over a decade of experience in the commercial and retail property sector, with a strong track record in delivering strategic leasing outcomes across the South Island. She has played a key role in securing high-profile tenants for major developments including Queenstown Central and the Invercargill Central development, working with national and international retailers to create vibrant, high-performing retail environments.
In her new role at Southpark Group, Michaela will lead the leasing strategy across the company’s Christchurch portfolio and drive business development for The Works at Waterloo – a growing business park in the heart of the region. Known for her ability to connect great tenants with the right spaces, Michaela is focused on delivering leasing solutions that align with long-term vision and growth for all stakeholders.

BBD announces key promotions across Auckland, Christchurch, and Wellington Offices
BBD is pleased to announce a series of well-deserved promotions across its national team, recognising the expertise, leadership, and ongoing contributions of several valued team members.

In Auckland, Bradford Smith has been promoted to Associate Director. Known for his focus on accuracy and long-term relationship building, Bradfords skills play a pivotal role at bbd in helping clients and colleagues manage risk and achieve their project goals. He is trusted in the banking sector and instrumental in the successful delivery of projects for our clients. Highly respected in the office, Bradford brings an expertise and leadership that bbd regard as inspiring to our future growth.

Also in the Auckland office, Conner McAllister has been promoted to Senior Quantity Surveyor, while Johnathan Mudrovcic steps into the dual role of Senior Quantity Surveyor and Technical Advisor. Conner brings a positive and professional approach to his work, particularly within the education, industrial, and remedial sectors. Johnathan (Johno), is instrumental in driving BBD’s digital innovation and is highly regarded for his deep expertise in BIM, data management, carbon reporting and sustainability
In Christchurch and Wellington, Chris Flanagan and Melissa Cross have each been promoted to Associate. Chris, a longstanding member of the Christchurch team, is recognised for his technical strength, reliable client service, and mentorship within the office. Melissa, based in Wellington, is known for her versatile skillset, collaborative leadership, and active involvement in the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NZIQS).

BLACK appoints Gordy McGregor as Regional Manager

BLACK has announced the appointment of Gordy McGregor as Regional Manager for the Lower South Island.
Based in Queenstown, he brings extensive industry experience and a deep understanding of the local regions, having delivered major award-winning projects across Aotearoa and the United Kingdom in the commercial, retail, transport, and education sectors.

Sam Hyde-Smith moves to Colliers’ brokerage

Sam Hyde-Smith has moved into a brokerage role in the Colliers Investment Sales team in Auckland, specialising in the eastern suburbs.
Hyde-Smith joined the business as a Team Assistant in 2023 where he gained a comprehensive understanding of the commercial property sector under the guidance of the market-leading Investment Sales experts at Colliers.
Richard Donaldson joins the Rubix team
Rubix has announced that Richard Donaldson has joined the team as the firm’s National Education Sector Lead.
Richard brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in managing complex, high-value projects across multiple sectors. Over his 20-year career, he has developed a specialisation in delivering education infrastructure through the funding, planning, design and construction phases. This makes Richard the ideal person to lead Rubix’s effort to shape the future of high-quality learning environments in Aotearoa New Zealand.
