With a couple of weeks of life at orange under our belt, I’m sure I am not the only one to be rejoicing at the new normal. It is heartening to see people out and about again as we reconnect with family, friends and colleagues.
The Property Council team is buzzing to bring you a host of local and national events over the coming months – we’ve missed connecting with our members in person and relish our role as a conduit for the property sector. You’ll see many more invitations to member-only events in your inbox (and on our website) and we encourage you to register, come along and reconnect with clients and colleagues.
One particular highlight is the Property Council New Zealand Rider Levett Bucknall Property Industry Awards scheduled for Friday 12 August. If you’ve never been, then purchase a ticket and come along. Not only does the evening provide one of the best networking opportunities in property, but it’s truly a celebration not to be missed. Tickets are selling fast so book now to avoid disappointment.
On the advocacy front, Katherine and the team have been busy working on Annual and District Plans around the country. This is an extremely busy time of year due to the condensed timeframe to provide submissions. I encourage you to look at the consultations relating to your region – there are big issues being raised which will impact our sector and it is important that we offer a practical ‘voice of reason’ to some of the more optimistic proposals.
Finally, the new membership year kicked off on 1st April and we are humbled by the prompt response and payment of a majority of our members. Thank you to all those who have recommitted for the coming year. We look forward to continuing to make a positive impact for our members, for our sector and for the country.
