The Hon Julie Bishop, known for her longstanding roles in Australian politics, is the latest in a strong lineup of speakers to be announced for this year’s Property Conference taking place on the Gold Coast, Australia from 20-22 September.
As one of Australia’s most recognised and respected politicians at home and abroad, her 20-year parliamentary career saw Julie achieve her goal of being Australia’s first female Minister for Foreign Affairs. She was Deputy Leader of the Federal Liberal Party for 11 years and is currently first female Chancellor of Australian National University appointed in 2020.
To global acclaim, she led the international response in 2014 to the downing of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 over Ukraine.
In addition to a broad range of philanthropic governance roles, in 2020 Julie was awarded a Fisher Family Fellowship for the Future of Diplomacy Project at Harvard Kennedy School Belfer Centre for Science and International Affairs. In 2021 Julie was awarded the Kissinger Fellowship at the McCain Institute of International Leadership at Arizona State University.
A vocal advocate for diversity and inclusion, in 2021 Julie was appointed by the UK Government to the G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council (GEAC). More recently, in 2022 Ms Bishop was awarded the Sir Edward “Weary” Dunlop AsiaLink Medal for her contribution to Australian diplomacy, women’s empowerment and Australia’s integration with the Indo-Pacific.
We are delighted to have Julie join us for this year’s conference and encourage all members to book flights and accommodation early to secure the best rates.
