Positioned as the ultimate urban destination; our capital of cool 'Wellington' is how our city is referred to by Wellingtonians, but what about the rest of world? Join us for an update with some of Wellingtons regional economic experts to hear about the latest updates, hurdles and opportunities.

Listen to the newly elected Wellington Mayor, Andy Foster as he shares his forecast for Wellington, followed by Wellingtonnz, General Manager, David Perks and Wellington International Airport, Chief Executive, Steven Sanderson who will speak about the present Wellington climate, its future growth and infrastructure needed in order to accommodate this growing city. Hear the latest on the challenges that lie ahead and then enjoy some networking time to identify the solutions we as a sector could provide to help grow our region.

David Perks, General Manager of Regional Development, Destination and Attraction, WellingtonNZ

David Perks is the General Manager of Regional Development, Destination and Attraction at WellingtonNZ. David’s group with WellingtonNZ covers of tourism, business events, screen sector, programmes that support local business growth and various projects to deliver growth including the Wellington Convention & Exhibition Centre. David’s been working on this project for over 10 years so as it at last starts to come to fruition he is excited about the future finished product and the opportunity it will provide to Wellington both directly and for complimentary development in the surrounding precinct.

Steven Sanderson, Chief Executive Officer, Wellington International Airport

Steve Sanderson joined Wellington Airport in February 2012. Steve has predominately a career background in infrastructure businesses including Airport, Electricity and Ports. Prior to his appointment at Wellington Airport Steve’s previous key roles include CEO for Queenstown Airport, CEO Dynamic Controls a US owned company, which is listed on the NY stock exchange, General Manager NZ/Australia at Powerco, and General Manager at Lyttelton Port Company. Steve is currently Chair of New Zealand Airports Association, and is a former Director of Pioneer Generation & Port Nelson
