What is diversity?
“Diversity and inclusive practice include gender, religious, race, age, disability, linguistic differences, socio-economic status and cultural background."

How does this translate to your working environment?

Property Council's Wellington Branch is bringing together a group of speakers to assess and take an in-depth look at diversity and inclusion frameworks over a three-part series.

This first of this event series will ask the question about what diversity means to property professionals and organisations that have already adopted the 40:40:20 pledge.

Claire Callaghan of Transpower will explain how adopting the pledge has evolved within the company.  Kirsten McLay will then share with the group her experiences through the Deloitte Story as the very first female director. To round off the discussions, Leonie Freeman will deliver the Property Council New Zealand perspective of diversity and explain the organisation’s future goals.

Come and share your thoughts on diversity with like-minded colleagues and be enlightened by other industry stories as we are all on this journey together.

Networking lunch and refreshments included.

Claire Callaghan

Digital Workplace Services Manager, Digital Assets and Services, IST, Transpower

Claire's father always told his mates that "Claire talks for a living" and in a way that's true.  She is a tech-translater for the user community at Transpower; representing staff needs around the digital workspace, unravelling complexity and acting as go-between with the tech teams.      Diversity and Inclusion requires the same level of advocacy and understanding.  Claire's in no doubt that lifting diversity is not only fair, but good for all; from a company’s bottom line to the wicked problem solving.

Kirsten Mclay

Director – Digital Consulting, Deloitte

Kirsten McLay is passionate about developing diverse talent to ensure digital design is inclusive. Trained as a Programme Manager and Business Architect, she has been bringing technical and business teams together for more than 15 years to design and implement digital transformation. Working as a Director at Deloitte, Kirsten leverages her creative interests to help clients to create elegant solutions with limited resources. While working at Deloitte, she established and leads the Women in Technology initiative focussed on progressing gender diversity and inclusion in the Digital and Technology industry.
