Dr Joan Forret
Partner, Harkness Henry
Joan has been a partner at Harkness Henry since 2006 and her specialist area of practice encompasses all aspects of resource management and alcohol licensing. She regularly appears before the Environment Court, the Alcohol Regulatory and Licensing Authority, and at Local Authority and District Licensing Committee hearings. Joan advises a wide range of commercial and individual clients whose interests include resource consents, planning and plan changes, RMA enforcement and alcohol licensing.
Joan is a member of the University of Waikato Council, a vice president of the Waikato branch of the Property Council and an immediate past Chair of the Waikato branch of the Resource Management Law Association. Lecturing for five years in Environmental and Public Law at Waikato University, she holds a PhD and LLB in law from Waikato University, and arts (history) and science (chemistry) degrees from Otago University.
Managing Director, HD Geo
In 2014 Emily co-founded HD Geo Limited. Emily’s background is in Engineering Geology and over her career has specialised in land development and project management in the Waikato. Emily’s passion for growing strong business relationships coupled with the growth of HD has led to Emily taking on the role of Managing Director.
As a senior engineering geologist with over 13 years of geotechnical experience in the Waikato, she has worked for a range of projects and has had the chance to gain an extensive knowledge of the geology of this area. Emily holds a BSC degree in Earth Sciences and specialises in land development. As a member of Engineering New Zealand, Emily is enthusiastic about continuing to develop her technical background. Emily is passionate about the business and develops her skills through professional mentorship.
Centre Manager, Stride Property
Tina is the asset Manager of one of Stride Investment Management Limited (SIML) largest properties - Chartwell Shopping Centre. Jointly responsible for leading and growing a multimillion dollar asset, delivering positive dividends to shareholders - focused on achieving results, working within the complexities of operating a large asset open to the public with millions of visitors a year.
Tina has experience in working across multiple industries in both public and private sectors and started her career as a registered nurse. After a decade working in the health sector, her last 15 years have been in senior management with 3 of New Zealand’s largest property companies, which are all listed companies on NZX, owning several Billion dollars in assets.
Tina has a strong sense of community and a drive to “make a difference” having held board governance roles in not for profits such as Waikato Women’s Refuge, Dress for Success and Midland Sexual Assault Support Services that work with some of the most vulnerable people in our community.

Terms & Conditions
Confirmation of registration will be sent to each attendee and an invoice/receipt will be sent to the purchaser upon check out. Please note that credit is offered to Property Council New Zealand members only, with non-members required to pay in full upon check out via credit card or POLi direct bank transfer.
Should you need to cancel your attendance, you may reassign your registration to another person by notifying the Event Manager in writing. If you are unable to arrange a replacement, a full refund will be made providing notification is received in writing at least one week prior to the event (please note that this may not be applicable for national events or Awards functions). After this date, no refunds are available. If, for reasons beyond the control of Property Council New Zealand, the event is cancelled, the registration fee will be refunded after deduction of expenses already incurred.
Property Council New Zealand reserves the right to refuse entry or to remove from the premises any person at their sole and absolute discretion. Property Council New Zealand is intent on creating quality events within safe and respectful environments for all attendees to share knowledge, express their thoughts and opinions and network. Our code of conduct requires all attendees and stakeholders to act in a manner which is harassment-free and respectful of people in a public environment, be it gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, race or religion. It is our expectation that attendees will act in a responsible manner in regard to alcohol consumption.

Please note that many of our events have a photographer or videographer present who will be capturing the event. These images and videos may be used on our website, shared on social media and printed in our promotional collateral.
