Fiona Short
Associate, Warren and Mahoney

Fiona is an Associate at Warren and Mahoney Architects Christchurch office.  She joined the practice in 2011 as an Architectural Graduate, and was appointed Associate in 2017.  She is a passionate and skilled designer with well-rounded knowledge in many aspects of design.  In practice, Fiona has a personal interest in celebrating diversity, and a design specialism and focus in environmental sustainability, urban design and social impact.  Her projects have included the Mary Potter Apartments which was awarded a NZIA National Award in 2016; East Frame development proposals in Christchurch; several house designs, a museum and more recently tertiary education.  Fiona won the Property Council NZ Southern Excellence Greenwood Roche Young Achiever of the Year in 2017.

Leonie Freeman
Chief Executive, Property Council New Zealand

Leonie was appointed as Property Council New Zealand’s new Chief Executive in December 2018.  She is a well-respected industry leader. Leonie has extensive experience in the New Zealand property industry, having held top positions in both the public and private sector.  From creating the concept of what is now, to buying and transforming her own residential property management business, being employed as a strategic property advisor during the establishment of the new Auckland Council, and as General Manager of Asset Development for Housing New Zealand, there’s not many areas of property that Leonie has not touched.  Leonie has also dedicated her time to leading an independent philanthropic initiative to solve Auckland’s housing crisis.

Hon. Ruth Richardson
Principal, Ruth Richardson (NZ) Limited and former Minister of Finance

As New Zealand’s Minister of Finance from 1990 to 1993, Ruth was the principal architect of New Zealand’s second wave of reform, complementing the first wave of reforms initiated in the mid-1980s by New Zealand’s other well-known Minister of Finance, Sir Roger Douglas. Her institutional framework for the conduct of fiscal policy, the Fiscal Responsibility Act 1994, is widely regarded as setting international best practice, and is a cornerstone of New Zealand’s economic framework.  Since leaving Parliament in 1994, Ruth has had an extensive international practice as a public policy consultant. She has advised widely on strategies designed to achieve the practice of good governance and the development of high quality policy frameworks.

Sue Sheldon CNZM 
Sue Sheldon Advisory Ltd

Sue Sheldon is a professional company director. She is Chair of Regenerate Christchurch and Auckland Council’s Audit and Risk Committee, and is a director of Wayfare Group (formerly Real Journeys Limited) and The Salvation Army.  She has previously held the roles of chairman of Chorus, Paymark, NZ Global Women and the Board of Trustees of the National Provident Fund, deputy chairman of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and Christchurch International Airport Limited, and director of Telecom and Smiths City Group Limited.  Prior to moving into a professional director role, Sue practised as a chartered accountant and is a former president of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.  Sue was made a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2007.
