Speakers

Loren Heaphy, General Manager - Destination & Attraction, ChristchurchNZ

Loren commenced her role as General Manager of Destination and Attraction at ChristchurchNZ, the city's promotion and economic development agency, in June of this year.

Previously the Major Events Destination Project Manager and Special Projects Event Development Manager for Auckland Tourim, Events and Economic Development, Loren has an extensive background in both destination management and major events. She has held previous roles as General Manager Tourism and Events with Ngati Whatua Orakei, International Marketing and Recruitment Manager for Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology and International Marketing Manager for Nelson Tasman Tourism and was part of the tiny team that moved the World of WearableArt Awards Show from Nelson to Wellington.

She is a recipient of numerous awards including Westpac New Zealand Millennial Women of Influence Award for work in social media and is a recipient of the SinularityU NZ Digital Fellowship. 

Sudesh Jhunjhnuwala, CEO, Sudima Hotels & Resorts

Sudesh is the Auckland-based owner and CEO of Sudima Hotels, New Zealand's leader in environmentally friendly and accessible hotels.

A long-time New Zeealand resident and property investor, Sudesh is passionate about ensuring that his business operations support the communities in which they operate - he abides by the philosophy that if his business benefits, so too should the community.  It is this ethos that has driven Sudima Hotels' success as an industry leader in setting sustainability benchmarks - the team supports a number of initiatives around the country such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, free breakfasts for school children in Rotorua, and the Sudima Hotels at Auckland and Christchurch airports are the first, and only, caroNZero hotels in the country.

Under Sudesh's direction, Sudima Hotels has expanded to include seven properties. Current locations include Hamilton, Rotorua, Auckland Airport and Christchurch Airport, with hotels currently under development in Kaikoura, Christchurch CBD and Auckland CBD.
