As our city continues to grow, it is important to plan well for growth, using urban design principles to ensure developments encompass good quality design that connects people and places, public and private space, the natural and built environment, movement and urban form, and balances the social and economic purposes for which space is used.

In this exciting event, we will:

  • Learn about Hamilton City’s plan to implement the National Policy Statement (NPS) on Urban Development and how this will work in collaboration with the Central City Transformation Plan, presented by Luke O’Dwyer, City Planning Manager, Hamilton City Council, Jen Parlane, Technical Lead, CCTP, and Paul Bowman, Project Manager CCTP,  City Planning.
  • Be joined by the Hamilton Urban Design Advisory Panel, which plays a key role in improving the quality of the built environment across Hamilton City, to discuss their role in assisting, enhancing, and suggesting better outcomes for several projects in the city. Speakers include Brian Squair, Board Chair & Director, Chow:Hill Architects, Chris Dawson, Planning Project Manager, BBO, Dr. Les Matthews,  Registered Architect, and UDP Chair, and Colin Hattingh, Urban Design Planner, Hamilton City Council.

A must-attend for all those interested in helping shape Hamilton for future generations, we encourage you to book now to secure your place.
