Join us to hear from Phillip Ware, Technical Director – Environments for Beca on how contaminated land interacts with property ownership and development.  The National Environmental Standard for Assessing and Managing Contaminants in Soil to Protect Human Health came into effect in 2012.  These standards are important for anyone invested in property or planning to subdivide land for residential or industrial use.  This talk will include details on the regulatory and development implications, and risks to lessor and lease.

Phil has over 18 years’ experience as a contaminated land, hydrogeological and environmental consultant.  He is Beca’s lead Technical Reviewer of contaminated soil, groundwater, and remediation projects across Australasia.  Phil has led the environmental and contaminated land inputs into projects across the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.  Phil’s track record as Contaminated Land Lead includes projects such as the consenting of the infrastructure for the 36th Americas Cup, the Wynyard Central public and private Land Development projects for Panuku, large roading projects such as Mackays to Peka Peka, Puhoi to Warkworth, and Peka Peka to Otaki, together with numerous Airports, industrial and commercial projects.

Phil is a Certified Environmental Professional and Contaminated Land Specialist.
