Tauranga’s property landscape is changing, the plans and rules are regularly reviewed to ensure they are working well and moving with the times. Proposed Plan Changes 26 (Housing Choice) and 27 (Flooding for intense rainfall) aim to address emerging issues as we look into the future growth of the city.
Join us to hear about the proposed Plan Changes 26 & 27 from Tauranga City Council’s Janine Speedy, Team Leader – City Planning, along with Corinne Frischknecht, Senior Policy Planner of Tauranga City Council.
Discussions will include:
- Next steps and where the Council are currently in the process
- A summary of submissions on each plan change, along with the key challenges highlighted from these submissions
- Any potential changes Tauranga City Council envisage to the proposals.
- Q & A from the audience facilitated by Morgan Jones, BOP Branch Executive member
Plan Change 26 – Housing choice proposes changes to the City Plan to make it easier for people to build a variety of more compact types of homes, like duplexes, terraced houses, townhouses and apartments that better suit their needs.
Plan Change 27 – Flooding from intense rainfall introduces a new rule framework to manage the effects of flooding in intense rainfall events on people, properties and infrastructure.
