Satish Ranchhod, Westpac’s Senior Economist, will give the latest update on the outlook for the New Zealand economy, covering interest rates, house prices, population trends, and wage growth among other things.
Then, Gary Sellars and Marius Ogg from Colliers will provide an overview of the Christchurch investment property market including an update on the office leasing market, hospitality scene, industrial market and other related drivers and trends.

Satish Ranchhod
Senior Economist, Westpac NZ

Satish joined Westpac’s Economics team as a Senior Economist in October 2014. His work focuses on inflation and developments in New Zealand’s household sector. Prior to joining Westpac, he was an adviser at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. Much of his career has focused analysing and forecasting the New Zealand economy, with a particular focus on inflation.  Satish has also spent time as an economic researcher, leading the Reserve Bank’s analysis of the economic effects of the Canterbury earthquakes and its analysis of the global economy during the financial crisis.

Gary Sellars
Director of Valuation & Advisory Services, Colliers

Gary is Director of Valuation and Advisory Services at Colliers in Christchurch, having started his valuation career with the Valuation Department in 1973. Since then he has worked for the Hong Kong Government in the rating and valuation department and Fright Aubrey as a Director, which has since evolved into Colliers.
Gary specialises in commercial and industrial valuation and consultancy within the CBD and suburban locations of Christchurch and other major metropolitan areas in the South Island. He has completed extensive research on the Christchurch office vacancy market, as well as the residential and business land markets in Canterbury for a number of years.

Marius Ogg
Investment Sales Broker, Colliers

Marius has recently joined the Colliers Agency team as an Investment Sales Broker. This follows 25 years in property valuation, with his most recent role being Senior Director of Valuation & Advisory Services at Colliers. He remains a registered valuer (non-practicing) and is a Fellow of both the New Zealand Property Institute and Institute of Valuers. Marius has had a broad range of experience in many areas of the valuation profession, having specialised in commercial, industrial and land valuation as well as providing consultancy advice on a variety of sectors. In his new role he is part of the Investment Sales team concentrating on a variety on commercial transactions, primarily within Christchurch.
