"Our mission is to be an effective advocate for investors, and in managers to promote a better understanding of the significant contribution that shopping centres make to economic growth"
The New Zealand Council of Shopping Centres (NZCSC) is a forum of retail industry leaders who champion the issues surrounding their sector, examining trends, resolving issues and taking the retail sector into the future.
A key result area for the NZCSC is its annual Retail Conference, an event that delivers leading edge thinking in terms of retail trends, retail marketing and the current issues facing the industry. Held annually, the Conference attracts over 230 retail property related professionals. Further information on this event can be found in the Events Section.
NZCSC also publishes a regular newsletter, keeping members informed of current issues affecting the retail sector as well as informing members of any proposed educational seminars. Click here for more information.
In conjunction with Property Council New Zealand, NZCSC publishes a
Shopping Centre Directory, a major document prepared for the commercial property and retail industries, designed to provide the user with a broad range of details on each individual centre. Information presented on each centre includes details of centre ownership, management, location, key tenants, car parking, vacant areas and other key details.
Industry training is provided through the Shopping Centre Council of Australia, particularly their shopping centre examinations. For further information please visit the Shopping Centre Council of Australia's website.
NZCSC also submitted on changes to the Property Law Act last year. This can be viewed here.
The NZCSC is governed by a committee of volunteers, who are key players within the retail and shopping centre industry.
