About us

Who we are

Property Council New Zealand (PCNZ) has a history of achievement and service stretching over 25 years. Beginning life in 1976 as the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) our organisation helped forge a new industry with a clear identity, purpose and increasing political influence.

In April 1999, the Association was re-launched as the Property Council of New Zealand, and more recently to Property Council New Zealand, following a broad ranging strategic review. The new organisation has a wider focus, provides more benefits for members and has a higher political profile.

We have Branch Offices located in Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Waikato, Wellington and the South Island. Governed by national and branch committees, Branch Executive Committees focus on local issues while National Committees focus on strategic issues such as: taxation, planning and development controls, research and information, corporate real estate and retail issues.

What we do

PCNZ are a not for profit organisation that represents New Zealand's Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Property Funds and Multi Unit Residential property owners, managers and investors. PCNZ represents all forms of commercial property and property investment in New Zealand.

Being a not-for-profit organisation, PCNZ's aim is to take away the fear of investing in New Zealand property while giving the best service, advocacy, research, seminars and networking opportunities when it comes to property in New Zealand.

PCNZ is all about growing property investment and is the only New Zealand property association that actively involves itself with central, local and other government associated bodies to help create a vibrant commercial property market.

To do this PCNZ provides timely and impartial research information to help make investment decisions. PCNZ hold superb events and seminars that offer opportunities to be informed, to network and learn more about the industry. PCNZ's strength is in its numbers to lobby. With over $24 billion invested in the New Zealand commercial property scene, PCNZ is definitely there to be heard.

PCNZ is there to promote property as the best investment option. Whether it is in the cities or towns, property is all about housing commerce. People are social and need to interact with one another when it comes to business, which is why there will always be a need for property.

PCNZ recognises the importance of social interaction, which is why we help our members build from that base. As an organisation, we are proud to be your business partner in creating wealth for all New Zealanders to share in.
